ITINERARY

Day 1
ARRIVAL IN DAR ES SALAAM

Meet on arrival at the airport and transfer to check in at The Slipway Hotel base on bed and breakfast  

Moorish arches and palm trees vie with Victorian street lamps to create a convoluted kasbah-by-the-sea atmosphere at this small hotel-cum-shopping center. As a bit of a tourist enclave, complete with an interesting waterfront location (you can occasionally watch fishermen toiling over their vessels in the old boatyard) and its own boat jetty, the Slipway offers clean, comfortable rooms and access to myriad shops, several restaurants, and enough services to ensure that you never really need to leave the premises. The whole place is designed like an indoor-outdoor bazaar.

Day 2
DEPART TO IRINGA

After breakfast, depart to Iringa, as a stop over, check in at Neema Craft Guest House for overnight before proceeding to Sumbawanga on the next day. On bed and breakfast

Neema Crafts, in partnership with the Mother's Union (UMAKI) of the Diocese of Ruaha, has built the first disabled staffed guest house in Africa. It provides ten en-suite rooms, ranging from large family rooms, with beautiful views over the surrounding hills, to smaller double and twin rooms.

The guest house provides training and employment for deaf and disabled trainees. Profits are put towards the running costs of the Neema Therapy centre for disabled children, and will also help to make Neema's work with people with disabilities even more sustainable

Day 3
DEPART TO SUMBAWANGA

After breakfast, continue to Sumbawanga via Mbeya. Check in at Kalambo Falls Lodge base on bed and breakfast.

Day 4
DEPART TO KATAVI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, depart to Katavi National Park with lunch boxes. Afternoon game drive in the park, check in at Katavi National Park Bandas base on bed. Meals to be organised directly at TANAPA.

Explore Katavi Plain National Park. 

Katavi Plains National Park was established in 1951 and given National Park status in 1974 by the government. The Park is one of the upcoming tourist attractions in Tanzania as it is an unspoiled wild park with unique attractions. Because of its remote location it receives few visitors and it’s the best for those tourists who love peace. Katavi is excellent for bird-watchers as it has over 400 species. You are also likely to see leopards, elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras and buffalos. 


NIGHT GAME DRIVE WITH RANGER (19HRS-22HRS)

Night Game Drives in Tanzania: Night game drive is an adventurous activity in Tanzania that is carried out at night in an open safari vehicle with a canvas canopy, spotlight torches for clear viewing, driven by a professional guide and with the help of an armed park ranger to protect you from any danger.


Day 5
FULL DAY IN KATAVI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, go for a morning and afternoon game drive in the park, meals own arrangement, return to Katavi National Park Bandas for overnight. Night game drive

Day 6
ANOTHER FULL DAY AND DEPART TO MPANDA TOWN

After breakfast, proceed with full day game drive in the park. Return to the Camp to collect luggage and be transferred to Mpanda town, check in at Nangero Royal Hotel base on bed and breakfast

Day 7
DEPART MPANDA TO KIGOMA AND TRANSFER TO GOMBE

Early morning breakfast, depart to Kigoma. Lunch in Kigoma (pay direct), later drop off at the port for speed boat transfer to Gombe Stream National Park, check in at the Gombe National Park Rest House, afternoon relax on the beach

Day 8
CHIMPANZEE TREKKING IN GOMBE

Trekking at the Gombe Chimpanzee hills for 4 hours. Return to the Camp and connect speed boat back to Kigoma. Check in at Coast View Resort base on bed and breakfast.

Gombe Stream National Park is the smallest National Park in Tanzania but, despite of being very tiny, is magnificent. Gombe was made famous by British researcher Jane Goodall and was granted National Park status in 1969. The beauty of Gombe National Park is unique. The park doesn’t have roads and all game viewing is done on foot. The biggest attractions of the park are the highly habituated chimpanzees but there is a large number of Olive Baboons and different species of monkeys such as Red Colobus, Blue monkeys etc. The Park has roughly 100 – 150 Chimpanzees. The birdlife is extra ordinary as more than 200 species of birds have been recorded at the Park.

Day 9
DEPART TO MAHALE MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, BOAT TRANSFER

Early morning breakfast, go shopping of food to use when you are in Mahale, organise for the cooker at Mahale Tanapa gate and pay drirect ) depart to Lukoma/Herembe to connect speed boat to Mahale National Park. Check in at the Mahale National Park-Mango trees Bandas for overnight. afternoon relax at the Beach

Day 10
CHIMPANZEE TREKKING IN THE FOREST OF MAHALE MOUNTAIN

After breakfast, chimpanzee trekking in the forest, afternoon leisure at the lake, meals organise direct with the cooker at the Tanapa Mango trees Bandas

Mahale National Park is 120km South of Kigoma and was gazetted in 1980. Mahale mountains is one of the most remote and beautiful National Parks in Africa. The park is half-way down the Eastern shore of the enormous Lake Tanganyika and has more than 700 Chimpanzees. The area is also inhabited by a wide range of animal species from elephants, giraffes, buffalos, lions and lots more in the Eastern woodland. It is also one of the best beach locations in the world with superb swimming, sailing, snorkeling and fishing.

Day 11
BOAT TRANSFER DEPART BACK TO KIGOMA

After breakfast, connect the speed boat to Lukoma/Herembe, meet your guide with your jeep depart back to Kigoma. Check in at Coast View Resort base on bed and breakfast

Day 12
DEPART BACK TO MPANDA TOWN STOP OVER

After breakfast, depart back to Katavi-Mpanda , lunch on the way pay direct. Check in at Nangero Royal Hotel base on bed and breakfast

Day 13
CONTINUE YOUR JOURNEY BACK TO MBEYA

Early morning breakfast, depart to Mbeya via Sumbawanga.  lunch on at Sumbawanga pay direct, then continue to Mbeya. Check in at Peace of Mind Guest House base on bed and breakfast

There is a garden next to the hotel. Guests are provided with Internet access. You can enjoy a delicious meal and rest at the restaurant.

Day 14
TAKE A TRIP TO THE BEACH AT LAKE MALAWI

After breakfast, proceed with your trip to Lake Malawi, along the way visiting some of the famous tourist attraction experience such amazing nature like Kaporogwe falls, Lake Ngozi Crater, Kijungu(Pot) Falls, God’s bridge (Daraja la mungu) as well as experiencing the view of Tea Plantation. Check in for dinner and overnight at Matema Lake shore Lodge, basing on full board

 Along the way; explore discover and experience evolveness of the nature;

Lake Ngozi crater is one of the wonderful tourist attractions, one hour tour around for unforgettable memories. A mountain top/crater, the lake itself is situated inside a volcanic caldera and is also the second largest Crater Lake in Africa. Along the walls of the caldera is a rainforest, which is kept evergreen by the large amounts of rainfall that the caldera receives. A few parts of the caldera walls lay bare due to landslides. is the leading tourist attraction in Rungwe district pulling hundreds of tourist, visitors each year, photographers for explorations and discoveries activities.

Kaporogwe Falls; Natural huge water drop on a cave at Isuba village which is approximately 18km from the small town of Tukuyu.  The falls is well decorated by the presence of a cave which provides an entrance for tourists to enjoy the visibility of these catastrophic falls from within.

Also connecting a short trip visiting Kijungu Falls (Pot like) is an attractive natural wonder where the entire Kiwira river flows into a pot-like hollow before flowing down the rocks and take its natural course. Amazing Kijungu Waterfalls situated  in Kiwira, approximately 80km from Mbeya Southern Highland City. Enjoying the wonders of the creation.

God’s Natural Bridge ( Daraja La Mungu in Swahili Language) without missing a short wonderful authentically site seen at  God's bridge the natural bridge that connect the two banks of Kiwira river. It has a width slightly larger than that of a single lane bridge and a length of about 50 metres, where is a also a passage for people from one side to the other. Its rocks are natural been arranged for over milions of years.

Also along the way to Matema Beach Lake Malawi, its great experience viewing widely cultivated Tea plantations in Tukuyu areas. Tea is one of the perennial crops that many small scale farmers depend on in generating their community development, as well as There is a tea processing factory at Katumba, 5 km from Tukuyu, as one travels to Mbeya.

Day 15 abd 16
RELAX AT THE BEACH AFTER LONG SAFARI

Enjoying days at leisure at Matema Lake Shore, or choose to experience varieties of activities booked and organised directly when you are at the lodge.

Matema Lake Shore with its beach, the lake and the quietness is an ideal place to relax. For the more adventurous different activities can be organized at the lodge: Lake Malawi with its crystal clear water and its one thousand indigenous species of fish is predestinated for kayaking or snorkelling. The Livingstone Mountain Range invites to go on hiking trips in chilled vegetation. Additionally trips to the Mwalalo Waterfall or to the famous pottery village Ikombe can also be organized too, where women of the Kisi tribe artfully produce a great variety of beautiful clay pots.

Kayaking water spot: Our sit-on-top kayaks are easy and safe to handle. Also beginners get confident in a couple of minutes. They are suitable for a maximum of two adults and one kid. Full briefing/guidance is always provided by the attendant specialist.

Snorkeling mind retreat excursion: A dugout canoe takes you to the best snorkel spots near the mountains. Lake Nyasa contains over a thousand species of fish, more than the North American and European continent combined. The majority of the species belong to the family of Cichlidae, but there are lungfish, elephant-noses, eels and catfish as well. Many of them are very colourful and have interesting behaviours – making it fascinating to watch them.

The cultural trip to the village of Ikombe is a highly recommended excursion. The Wakisi people are famous throughout Tanzania for their pottery making skills. You will have the opportunity to watch the process of producing these potteries and you can buy them at quite affordable rates.

Mwararo Waterfall, We give you a lift to the forested mountains from where it is a one-hour-climb up to the waterfall. On your way you cross the Mwararo River several times and you will be able to enjoy the atmosphere of a jungle with lots of plants, birds, monkeys and insects. You can swim in the chilling pool or take a refreshing shower in the waterfall before you start your way back.

Day 17
DEPART TO IRINGA FOR STOP OVER

After breakfast, depart to Iringa, check in at Kisolanza Farm for overnight before proceeding to Dar es Salaam on the next day. On bed and breakfast

Kisolanza is a working farm with cattle, sheep, vegetables, tobacco and flowers. You are free to explore the farm. The Ghaui family has lived in East Africa for over 100 years and are happy to share their knowledge of the area with you.

Amongst the attractions are the tea estates and challenging golf course at Mufindi, Isimila Stone Age Site, local pottery and the attractive historical town of Iringa with its wonderful market selling Kihehe baskets, fruit and vegetables

Day 18
DEPART BACK TO DAR

After breakfast, depart back to Dar with hot lunch on the way.
