DESCRIPTION
One of the best sights within
this Park is the Rufiji River, a gigantic river with a high density
of crocodiles and hippos. Together with the Great Ruaha River, it creates a
river delta, making for formidable game viewing and some of the most
exciting boat safaris in East Africa. This tour is suitable for people from Dar
es Salaam and Zanzibar.
ITINERARY
Day 1
DRIVE TO SELOUS AND AFTERNOON BOAT SAFARI

Ngalawa Camp
Selous Ngalawa Camp is a basic self contained tented camp located near the Mtemere
main gate and Mtemere Airstrip and is situated along the Rufiji River
Day 2
FULL DAY GAME DRIVE AND EVENING CULTURAL VILLAGE TOURS
Full day game drive in the park with lunch boxes. Afternoon enjoy the cultural village tour. Dinner and overnight at Selous Ngalawa Camp
Few
other safaris in Tanzania evoke the romance, mystique and spiritual delight of
the African bush as one in the Nyerere N. Park. Embracing 54,000 square
km of south-western Tanzania, it is one of the largest protected wilderness
park on the continent, three times larger than the Serengeti and twice the size
of Belgium. Named after the legendary 19th century explorer and hunter Frederick
Courtney Selous, the reserve was founded by the German colonial administration
in 1905. It was later expanded to include traditional elephant migration routes
and accommodate the vast herds of buffalo that roam this remote, untouched
corner of Africa.
Day 3
WALKING SAFARI AND DEPARTURE
Early morning walking safari, then
after breakfast depart back to Dar with packed lunch.
