Kenya’s capital city has risen in a single century from a brackish uninhabited swampland to a thriving modern capital.

Modern Nairobi is still the safari capital of the Africa, but the modern world has quickly caught up with the city. A frontier town no more, Nairobi is one of Africa’s largest, and most interesting cities.

Nairobi is a city that never seems to sleep. The entire town has a boundless energy, and is thriving place where all of human life can be found. This is a place of great contrasts where race, tribe and origin all become facets of a unique Nairobi character. The city has not lost its sense of the past, with an excellent museum and the historical home of Karen Blixen, author of Out of Africa open to visitors. This is not a modern capital separated from the great wilderness that surrounds it. Just outside the city is Nairobi National Park, 113 sq. kms of plains, cliffs and forest. The park is home to large herds of zebra, Wildebeest, Buffalo, Giraffe and more. Rhino, Cheetah, and a large number of Lions are all found here, living wild within 20 minutes of the centre of town.

Ibis Styles Nairobi Westlands is in a business location in Nairobi. This recently built 280-room hotel is near the city's central business district and local business parks. Free buffet breakfast, free WiFi in public areas, and free self-parking are also provided. Additionally, a fitness center, a coffee shop/café, and a snack bar/deli are onsite. All 280 individually decorated rooms feature free WiFi and pillow top beds. For a bit of entertainment, guests will find flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, and other amenities include room service and premium bedding. Bathrooms include showers, complimentary toiletries, and hair dryers. This Nairobi hotel provides complimentary wireless Internet access. Housekeeping is provided daily.

Day 2
NAIROBI TO LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast you will proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving at your Lodge in time for lunch.

There is time to relax after lunch before departing for an afternoon game drive in the park.

Lake Nakuru National Park is best known for its migrating flamingos and its large flocks of pelicans, however, recently the lake’s rising water levels has reduced the salinity of water in the lake thereby reducing algae, the main food for flamingoes.  When this happens the migrating flamingoes move to Lake Bogoria.  There are over 450 bird species at the lake and a thriving mammal population including buffalos, baboons, impalas, Rothschild giraffe, bush backs and waterbucks.  A rhino sanctuary was established to protect this highly endangered species. The parkland surrounding the Lake has acacia and euphorbia forests as well as areas of grassland and rocky cliffs.

Later in the evening you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge

Sarova Lion Hill Lodge

Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is nestled along the Lion Hill overlooking the spectacular flamingo pink rimmed Lake Nakuru. Its location affords panoramic views of the lake and the picturesque Lake Nakuru National Park. A short two-hour drive from Nairobi, Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is a favourite with residents and visitors to Kenya. Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is cleverly laid out in such a way that most rooms and sitting areas afford stunning views of the lake and the park. The Lodge incorporates natural landscaping with tall acacia trees, winding walkways and greens dotted with bird feeds. All Bedrooms are chalets with patios which have a panoramic view of the lake, private shower & WC, Mosquito nets Hair dryer &Tea/coffee making facilities.

Day 3
LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK TO MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE

Today, you will proceed for Masai Mara Game Reserve arriving at your camp in time for lunch.

Lunch will be served followed by a short siesta.

This afternoon you will visit the traditional Maasai Manyatta for cultural experience.

Return later in the evening to the camp for dinner and overnight. Zebra Plains Mara Camp

Masai Mara is one of Africa’s greatest wildlife reserves. Acacia dotted plains, tree-lined rivers and woodlands are abundant with wildlife and an array of birdlife. Game viewing is spectacular year round; you may see a pride of lions stalking their prey, observe a herd of elephant and their fascinating social structure, or see pods of hippo wallowing in the rivers.

Zebra Plains Mara Camp

Our luxury tented rooms are furnished with all the amenities that you will require for a comfortable stay whilst visiting the Maasai Mara. The rooms can be converted into doubles, singles or triples depending on the bookings. Our family tent is spacious, and it can accommodate a group of between 4 and 6 guests. All our tents have both cold and hot running water for showers. The tents are furnished with a wash basin, toilet, luggage rack, reading table, mosquito nets and comfy safari chairs to experience the amazing views from the verandah. The camp has two comfy lounges with the main lounge having an adjoined bar. Here you may share the day's stories with your hosts or other guests. During the day the lounges have the best view of the plains of the expansive Maasai Mara and perhaps you may be lucky to capture the actions from some of our resident wildlife. We have three dining areas to offer you a once in a life time dining experience in the bush. Our main indoor dining area is mostly used when the weather is not suitable for outdoor dining under our shaded area or under the stars dining on our wooded deck.

Day 4
MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE

This day will be spent game viewing in Kenya's finest wildlife park, the Masai Mara National Reserve in search of Africa's Big Five and the plethora of other wildlife inhabiting this vast Kenyan game reserve. Zebra Plains Mara Camp on full board basis

On clear days, the Masai Mara offers fantastic orange tinged sunset’s well-worth capturing on camera. The Masai Mara Game Reserve has incredible wide-open landscapes and fertile riverine woodland following the looping meanders of the Mara and Talek rivers in Kenya. One glimpse is enough to explain its appeal; it is classical open savannah, with a mass of amazing wildlife. Wherever you go in the vast Masai Mara you will see an abundance of wildlife such as Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, wildebeest. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras and hippos are also found in great numbers. It is also common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal or surveying the wild plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot but reasonably common. The ultimate action here is, without doubt, the annual wildebeest exodus, the Great Migration, in July and August when millions of these grass eaters move north from the Serengeti in search of lusher grass before turning south again in October.

Hot-air balloon trips are an entirely outstanding way of seeing the savannah plains teeming with wildlife. These Masai Mara balloon trips can be arranged at extra cost.
