DESCRIPTION
One of the best sights within
this Park is the Rufiji River, a gigantic river with a high density
of crocodiles and hippos. Together with the Great Ruaha River, it creates a
river delta, making for formidable game viewing and some of the most
exciting boat safaris in East Africa. This tour is suitable for people from Dar
es Salaam and Zanzibar.
ITINERARY
Day 1
DRIVE TO SELOUS/NYERERE NATIONAL PARK
08:30 Meet your driver guide and depart to Nyerere National Park, hot lunch in Kibiti. Afternoon Boat trip
along Rufiji River, check in at Camp of your choice for dinner and
overnight
Selous Kulinda Camp located near the entrance of the reserve and only has ten spacious luxury tents beautifully decorated in African style. All tents are en-suite and are equipped with comfortable beds, electricity and their own private verandas.
There are plenty of ways to relax at Selous Riverside Safari Camp. Discover the
swimming pool on the deck, overlooking the Rufiji River where you can soak up
the sun whilst enjoying a refreshing drink and admiring breathtaking views.
Adventures and activities available at Selous Riverside Safari Camp include
game drives in 4 x 4 vehicles, boat safaris and guided walking safaris through
magnificent scenery conducted by their experienced guides.
Day 2
FULL DAY AT SELOUS GAME RESERVE
Full day game drive in
the park with lunch boxes. Dinner and overnight at Selous Kulinda Camp

other safaris in Tanzania evoke the romance, mystique and spiritual delight of
the African bush as one in the Nyerere N. Park. Embracing 54,000 square
km of south-western Tanzania, it is one of the largest protected wilderness
park on the continent, three times larger than the Serengeti and twice the size
of Belgium. Named after the legendary 19th century explorer and hunter
Frederick Courtney Selous, the reserve was founded by the German colonial
administration in 1905. It was later expanded to include traditional elephant
migration routes and accommodate the vast herds of buffalo that roam this
remote, untouched corner of Africa.
Day 3
FULL DAY AT SELOUS GAME RESERVE AND VILLAGE TOUR
Full day game drive in
the park with lunch boxes. Dinner and overnight at Selous Kulinda Camp
Afternoon enjoy the cultural village tour
Day 4
WALKING SAFARI AND DEPARTURE
Early morning walking safari, then after breakfast depart back to Dar with packed
lunch.
